THE ALBUM From March 2020, surviving lockdowns through the medium of the internet,  The Celtic Social Club focused on its writing and recording work. Between Dan Donnelly, the musician from Belfast (Levellers, Wonder Stuff, Watercress...) living in Newcastle, and his comrades stranded in Brittany, a new method of work and production was invented, taking advantage of this suspended time. Between France and England, in an incessant back and forth of files, the album took shape little by little. Always anchored in the tradition of Celtic music and viscerally attached to the quality of his songwriting, Dan took inspiration from The Beatles, heroic rock and new-wave elements.]]> Dancing Or Dying?  is simply a great record made by a band imposinga sound, a style and a name. Between heroic guitars, new-wave rhythm and torrid gavotte (traditional Breton dance.), "The Edge Of The World" takes you in four minutes of raw energy.  "It's the present moment that counts !" proclaims their singer, Dan Donnelly. "Forget the past and don't worry about the future, because there will be no turning back!" . A fierce optimism with a deliberately pop-rock sound where the seven Franco-Irish encourage us to "not fear the edge of the world".

Side B: "For Real"

With its violin worthy of the Dexys Midnight Runners landing in a Beatles branded universe, "For Real" is a slice of raw optimism with a deliberately pop sound. The seven Franco-Irish are claiming loud and clear that, when the world gets back into action, they will be ready… and for real.]]> Dancing Or Dying ? (which will be released in October 2021). The Vinyl is Limited to just 250 copies.
